does anyone know of any festivals/gatherings in new zealand in september or october? i'm interested in music, arts, earth or quirky, or anything else that shouldn't be missed - thanks a tonne

Hey bigguy,

the only one i know of is Spledour in the Grass in Bryon Bay it is a weekend long festival. Im looking for something similar if you hear of anything gimme a shout!

byron bay is in Aus.. i think samham is after festivals in NZ

also If you're going to be there until new years there is a local music festical called Rhythm and Vines (which I am going to) which is supposed to be amazing!
also there is the Auckland heritage festival from the 16-24 of september which may or may not be right up your alley but It sounds interesting and you can learn a bit about Auckland's past.
Everything else I have found seems to be from january until june for some reason! But I will be the local tourist information office will have tonnes of ideas. Hope you find something you like and have an awesome time.

What about any good music festivals or concerts in australia sept/oct/nov..?
i hear U2 are playing sydney as well in october..?
Any other big groups got anything planned..?

If you're after the festivals, a good place to look at is It's one of Australia's national radio stations that plays the more alternative music and there is a section all about gigs and concerts and the dates as well.
