your proberly all sick of hearing this quastion , and i know theres no real answer for it all depnds on wher when, and what etc,
but im planning to travel all around oz and and bit of nz for hopfully 12 months, i will have around £6-7000. will this see me ok for a while?
i do have plans for working but i would like to relax for a short while when i arrive.
also anyone in sydney around the end of october, want to meet, or whatever, give me a shout.
one last thing for now,,, im planning to then visit uncle in MEL, what would anyone sugest the best way to get there is, or route etc.
that post about if aussies eat fruit pies got more response than this.... ha
though i do enjoy a good pie
im travelling round the world with roughly £4,000 but am working in oz for 5-6 months so it will HAVE to be enough!
you should manage easily on that amount and be able to do everything you want (and more!)
That's AUD 15,000 - AUD 17,000. (Rounded quite heavily.)
At an average budget of AUD 60 per day (a very reasonable budget, including supermarket food, dorm room hostel accommodation and travel in the form of a day long bus trip to the next destination every 5-7 days (I think buying a car would work out to a similar figure, with the initial cost spread out over the total period)), that will last you 250 - 283 days. Aka, 8-9 months. You could probably stretch it to last the entire 12 months if you live frugally, although it's more realistic to think that you'll do some expensive activities and will need to start looking for work after the seventh month.
So yes, that should be plenty for relaxing.
cheers guys thats what i wanted to hear.
id recommend a plane trip down to melbourne...its pretty cheap- about $100 max on virgin blue and its alot quicker than a bus and a train.
a plane trip sounds good but isint there anything to see on the way???
from sydney to mel
I suppose if you caught the train or got alift you would see more but it's about a 13hr trip by car. I personally dont think there is that much to see, im from Aus., unless you want to see a Giant Sheep or a submarine that is in the ground.
I'd take a plane.
