Never been on an aeroplane on my own before and my first flight on my own is to oz! Anyone done this on their own and can give me any advice or reassurance that I won't suffer stupidly from jet lag or will be completely alone? Anyone flying out on 27th Sept?!
Still haven't had any feedback on the oz experience, if anyone's got some I'll be waiting.

i recommend going on the biggest bender ever the night before and sleepling the whole way through...i've done quite a few long flights by myself and find this the best option.
Plus it means you get to go on a bender which even without the flight is a good thing.
Or if you dont do the alcohol thing! Just relax and chill out, wear comfy clothing (even take a change in your carry on) l wouldnt recommend jeans. Take a pillow to sleep on if you can or a blow up one, take a good book. I try to take some Nytol (herbal sleep aid) which whilst doesnt knock you out helps relax you. Also check in early, or pre book your seats so that you can get a good seat with leg room. Check out this website for advise on where to sit on your particular carrierwww.seatguru.com
On the other side try to aclimatise to the look time zone immediately, if its bright stay in sunlight as this helps ward off jet lag. Dont go to bed immediately if you land at 8am you really need to stay up until a normal bed time otherwise you will be hit badly - have something arranged for that day.
Drink plenty of water and fluids (if alcolohic intersperse them with a glass of water)
Get up on the plane and walk.
Take a good book, take an mp3 player, take a puzzle book, and take a conversation - you never know who you will be sitting beside and you will be with them for almost 20 hours so you might as well have a chat!
