Ok, I have one and a half days in Atlanta, GA. Does anybody live near there that might recommend something good, music, art, etc. Going to see Tom Waits august 1st, then staying for another day. I dont want to run around taking pictures of monuments, just relax, find something interesting.
thanks in advance folks.
Buckhead has a number of bars with live music. You might also want to check out little five points (www.l5p.com). To see who is playing on the weekend you are there, check out Creative Loafing, which is the local free paper.
Other than music and drinking, if you like Aquariums, I believe the Atlanta aquarium is one of the largest in the USA. I liked the CNN tour (about an hour long), but found the World of Coke pretty dull.
thanks alot folks, I will definitely check out the aquarium, wish I had more time to go see stone mountain. Thanks for the heads up on the local paper greg.
definitely go to little 5 points, by far the coolest and most ecclectic place in atlanta. junkman's is famous all over the south. great food, great shops and an awesome place to people watch. hope you have fun in hotlanta.
