Old ? 24 ?

I'm 62 and believ me,I enjoy travelling.I dont sleep in a dorm,I like my privat bathroom, but most hostels have 1 or 2 Rooms with priv.Bathr.

I did a few years ago a Amazontrip,we where 3 persons and the guide.the 2 Boys, 15 and 18 years young. We had fun together, sometimes I was a little bit behind, but balancing on the tree trunk while crossing a muddy place I was better, one boy hit the mud.I could barely hold my balance because I was laughing so hard.I canceled one afternoon hike, prefered to exercice the blowpipe with the kids from the "village" and helped cooking.the boys and the guide where very happy with this.

I think it is time to stomp out once and for all if there is an age that is too old for travelling. I started travelling when I was 36, I'm now 40 and still travelling. I expect to keep travelling for some time. Admittedly, I'm not so confident about my ability to conquer Mt Everest but I can still manage to throw my pack on my back and jump on and off trains without help and I only using my walking sticks when I'm hiking in the mountains. I have stayed in hostels throughout Africa and Europe and regularly come across people in my age bracket happily trudging around the world. When I hit 60 I might start asking if I'm getting to old but really you are as old or young as you feel (keep it clean guys) and very few people I have encountered in my travels have ever been able to guess my age - I think travelling is keeping my young.
Yes lots of people travel when they are young but look around next time your out there, you will notice the "not so young" but young at heart are still travelling.

You're only too old when you're 31 and are not eligible and regret having even considered 24 as being too old. Great trip. My advice would be to get over there. When you come back in 12 months you'll see that your mates who didnt go are still going to the same bar on a saturday night but just sitting in a different chair (to shake it up a little)

Quoting monkey23

hi all
i am due to fly out to Sydney in Nov.

Anyone who writes "i" for "I" can't possibly be particularly "old". :-)

Oh you make me laugh!
I am 47 and next month I head off for my first big 12 month adventure!
As Sander suggested, read my post 'Am I too old' and you will see that you are NEVER too old!
But you have now made me feel old, drat!

24 and asking if you're too old? You really need to get out more often. Your age is a number given to you so the advertising people of this world know where to spend their clients money.
