Greetings Everyone!!!

There is a headline news story that has just been reported... A TP member meet-up is being planned for September 23-24 in Dublin, Ireland!! I have started this thread so any and all members who would like to attend can post here. A good time will be had by all! If you would like to attend, have suggestions for meeting places, etc - please post. We would like to make this the largest TP Meet-Up possible! (The record is 9 members in Montreal - September 2005. We were there.)

--------------

Some of you may know us, others - probably not. I'm Isadora (one of the Moderators) and my husband is Beerman. Because of a posting I made in another forum, one of our members (coughPURDYcough) started a thread in Off Topic to help persuade us to visit Ireland. It worked and we booked our tickets this morning. The weekend, mentioned above, is the one full weekend we have in Ireland. We would love to meet as many TP members as are willing to make the journey to Dublin. Please give it some thought and if you can be there - great!!!!!!!!!!! The more the merrier!!!!!!!!!!!

For those interested in how this has come about, please see: Beerman & Isa

Im in and looking at hotels now!!

Eek been looking at hotels/hostels anything really and all coming up with very little availablity this is from 5 star swanky hotels to hostels needing a minimum 2 night stay in Dublin.

Call me fussy but l dont particularly want to share a dorm room - lm too old for all that!!

Should l wait till closer to the time the alternative is to go down to Dublin for the day!

Anyone got any suggestions?

Just spent the last hr looking, what area is good to stay in?

I agree with you on the age thing! Kris and I are not the hostel-style type of travelers either!

Here is a link for the Botanic View B&B that Tway gave me. She and Neal have stayed there. I don't know how close it is to anything else, but take a look:

It's not too far out, you can easily get a taxi into the City Centre, takes less than 10 minutes to get there.

But I am not too sure if this is a reputable place if it's called 'Bred and Breakfast'. Sounds a bit seedy to me...

Now I can't even use the edit button to fix it!!! It is Botanic View BED & Breakfast. And, I'll bet some breeding has been done there at some point in time..

It's early morning and I've only had one cup of coffee so far!!! That's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it!

Im shocked at how little there is available - we would usually stay in Jurys Croke Park, or the Hilton (or if we are flush or get a good deal the Conrad!!!!!!!!!!) but there is no rooms whatsoever -shocking!

And get the rooms for around 90 euro over a Saturday night. (Even at Christmas!)
