Can't make it to Montreal in your own country but can make it to Ireland... Me thinks Montreal wasn't a "cool" enough destination... Yeah, I know - you were stuck in Paris. It's such a hard knock life.

But I have been to Montreal TONS of times, and never to Dublin. Dublin is an adventure - a NEW adventure. Montreal was, at the time of the meet up, the place where I had spent the last 4 months working.

So, on a more serious note, I know that Ireland isn't part of the UK, but have them implemented similar restrictions on carry on? I might have to bring my laptop with me (hopefully I won't, but depending on where I am the week before and the week after...), and I'm concerned that I will have to check it.

Greg they have implemented the same restrictions but you can take your laptop into the cabin along with other electrical equipment just no liquids whatsoever - even toothpaste! So if you have to bring your lap top with no worries!

Make sure Philly takes you all to the Queen of Tarts. It's like some kid's dessert dream exploded in there. Yum, yum, yum. Plus they make the best coffee I've ever tasted.

OK, that's my two cents' for the meetup. Now I'll feel like I was there...sort of...;)

While I can not be present in Ireland this month in person, I will definitely be there in spirit. My experiences there have been wonderfully positive. The people have been very accomodating, the scenery and touring worth the visit, and the food, particularly on the second floor of the many pubs, much better than generally reported. Despite its' relatively large size, Dublin is a walking city. So, enjoy the exercise and the impressions that will remain with you long after your return.
If you have a chance, and the time, I would recommend renting a car and taking off at a slow pace through the countryside. Many ruined castles will be on the horizon. The tour of the Waterford glass plant is interesting as is a stop in Cork, a swing aroung the Ring of Kerry, and a trip to Blarney Castle. Local bed and breakfasts abound and are more than adequate.
Have fun.

I am not sure if we can fit all the people in there, it's quite small. But it's on the plan, definitely. Is Da Neaslta(tm) coming down to Dublin, T?

How many people have we got confirmed?

How many people have we got confirmed?

Confirmed Participants:

Kris & Gretchen (Beerman & Isa) - Friday
Phil (Pardus) - Lives there
Nikki & Arjan (Rraven & her sidekick) - Lives there
Heather & Paul (Purdy & her sidekick) - Saturday
Jase (Jase007) - Friday
Rich (Gelli) - Friday (?)
Ed (Smythy) - Saturday
Pauline (Lien) - Friday
Greg (GregW) - Friday

Right now, that gives us an even dozen. Da Nealsta (TM) is in Luxenbourg and unable to attend (last I heard). Pete (FSM nomad) has also had to decline as work won't be sending him to Italy until October.

There are 4 who have yet to respond to the PM. They may still, but we'll work with the confirmations we have at this time. Sound fair?

You heard right! The Nealsta(TM) (aka "Nealy"") will be in Luxembourg. So unless you'd all like to bunk on his floor for a few days...

And yes, I know that's a split quote.

It seems likley that I will appear with different tag alongs at different times, although how many people I'm tagged with (read: how ever many police &/or hen-do girls i'm handcuffed to) is TBC and likely to vary throughout. But how that works - or otherwise - for your number planning I don't know.

There is also an additional possibility of a couple of, erm, surprise guests appearing...
