Because unlike your sister, who returned to the heathen, barbarians ways by moving to Navan (the black hole of Ireland) you still live in Dublin.

(No Isas, we won't stop by Navan just because you heard about it! It's not a good place and I hate having my prejudices shattered!)

Okay, we better get back to the topic now before we get spanked for threadjacking... I keep forgetting that this is not the Off Topic forum.

to be honest it will depend on the day but i presume it'll be somewhere it the city ......

once we all have the contact numbers we should be fine, i think most people have mine and hopefully i'll be with the group all day so just text me whenever you're ready to meet up...

I think most everyone who will have a phone has (at least) some of the numbers. I know Heather, Nikki and I have them all.

I have been asked to post the agenda for the weekend - as it stands right now...

Friday - we'll be in a pub. Saturday - we'll be in another pub. Agenda covered.

Seriously...

Friday:

This one is rather up in the air due to the different arrival times. But, last word has it that everyone who will be in Dublin that day will be available by 8pm, if not earlier. I know Phil has some plans to do a bit of touring north of Dublin Friday afternoon. I think this will depend on "jet lag factor", but not out of the question by any means. Jase will be arriving about noon and Rich could be there around 4 or 7pm, or stuck on a freighter headed to Montevideo. This one is going to be "play it by ear" until cocktail time.

Greg and we will not have cell phones with us. But, we will be with someone who does.

Saturday

Everyone is to meet at Trinity, near the library, at 11am. After that, it's what the group decides... Those who live in Dublin and/or have been there will have ideas about things to do and places to go. There's always the Guinness factory. (Though Jamison's is my stop of choice...)

We have reservations at the TGI Fridays for 8pm Saturday night. Don't be late as there are surprises.

----------------------------

Dress code: It has been suggested that everyone wear the national dress of their country and high heels. I'm thinking that's a bit on the "short notice" side so I'm going to say casual. I don't know the "rules' about wearing trainers in the pubs... Maybe someone else can cover that issue. But, we plan on jeans and casual wear. (If that's not acceptable for TGI Fridays - it is here - then please post on their dress code. I was not planning on packing business casual clothes for this trip.)

I think that covers it. When it comes to Sunday activities, I think that will be worked out on Saturday between those who will still be around. Some things just need to go with the flow...

See you on Friday!!!!!!!

Isa now runs away so she can actually finish the packing, or start it even...

I've been thinking about the dress code and it will depend on weather, today for example there is light showers on and off all day, a slight breeze but still warm, so light rain jackets can comein handy ! during the day i plan on wearing jeans / trousers and trainers ( i live in my trainers or old man sandels on good days...) , tgis should be okay about trainers, but i do think thats its advisable to have shoes in back pack that you can change into if we go on to a pub as they have can be strict, or if you have dark trainers you'll get away with them , if we end up in temple bar everything goes !!

I had a dream last night that I was in Dublin. Less than 12 hours until I am on a plane!

I am curious to see what kind of pub doesn't allow it's patrons to wear trainers. In Canada, a pub is a very casual affair and don't normally have dress codes (other than the obvious no shirt, no shoes, no service).

A club, on the other hand, usually has a dress code. For men, it's a nice shirt, no jeans and nice shoes. For women, high heels, and as little else as possible ;)

Have a great time, everyone! I wish I coulad have gone to met up with you - but there's always a next time... Ireland's always on my list.

Enjoy and take lots of pictures! Make sure Philly walks you back to the DART and Beerman doesn't blind too many locals with his shirts. ;)

Hope you all have a fantastic time! I really wish I could have made it. Maybe another time eh?

Enjoy yourselves and be good, but not too good!!
