Call me fussy but l dont particularly want to share a dorm room - lm too old for all that!!

Should l wait till closer to the time the alternative is to go down to Dublin for the day!

Anyone got any suggestions?

I agree with you on the age thing! Kris and I are not the hostel-style type of travelers either!

Here is a link for the Botanic View B&B that Tway gave me. She and Neal have stayed there. I don't know how close it is to anything else, but take a look:

Botanic Bed & Breakfast

Just heard back from the B&B - they are full up this week end due to Ryder Cup.

This is serious people we need to re-think dates perhaps??? What about either 29/30th Sept (Fri/Sat) or the 30th/1st (Sat/Sun) my only issue is that this is the day Isa & Beerman leave our fair shores - still you should sleep on the flight if you have a hangover!!

Before we make decisions on what to eat, where to drink etc etc we need to get a round (ish) number of who is actually turning up (and will you be alone or with a friend!) Here's who l think will be there so far:

Isa & Beerman (aka Gretchen & Kris)
Paradus (Phil)
Rraven (Niki)
Jase007 (Jason)
Purdy (Me!! Heather) + one Paul other half
Neal - on behalf of Tway!!
Gelli (Rich)

Well lm counting 9 so far - any body else ANYONE!! I think Q's schedule cannot meet with the dates in September.

BREATH PURDY BREATH!!!!

I know of one or two more members who are interested in the meet-up. I know Claire (baluba) is willing to make the trip from Scotland. (She leaves on her trip in October.) I was also going to PM Garry Mollart (garry moll) to see if he would be interested too. He's in England. We also haven't heard from Mikey yet, nor Mim - though she is in Ecuador at the moment. She may be back in time. As Nikki commented, Ev (samsara2), who lives in Ireland, should be home soon too.

One of the reasons for this thread is to let people sign-up, join in and organize. We have 8 weeks to figure out where to eat, etc. But it doesn't hurt start thinking now. Members post when they have their schedules figured out.

I'm not going to get too upset about accommodations just yet either. I'm probably just as anal about plans as you, but I also know that things change quickly. So, not to worry - it'll all be sorted in time. ;)

Accommodation in Dublin
When I landed in Dublin, I boooked into the Tara Towers Hotel. It doesn't look too great from the outside, but it is nice inside, and it has a great sea view! And the price is quite reasonable. In January, it was about €60 for a three bed room per night. It is not far from the city centre (still in Dublin 4, and just before you get to Blackrock), a 15-20 minute bus trip to the city centre (bus 7 and 45), and it is on the 7N night bus route (00:30 till early morning). Otherwise, hotels is Dublin can rip your pocket.
