- in a pub / coffeeshop / the brewery / other ????

Must admit, I like the idea of other... (although not the zoo. Been there. Done that). Meeting in a bar or the like is probably asking for trouble, especially if it's a big place, as we'd probably loose a couple on the way just by not realising who was who.

The rusty pr1ck is another easy-ish place to meet, I suppose.

But basically, i'd say that it's best if Nikki &/or Phil pick somewhere as they are the locals who will have to guide unsuspecting lost TPers (i.e. me)in if they can't find wherever.

I was having a wee think about this - why dont we meet up in a central meeting spot and then all grab the Dublin siting seeing bus.

OR just had a brian wave! How about we all visit enmase Kilmainhaim Gaol - really cool prison, used in film sets (In the Name of the Father being one) and at least we do something a bit cultural before we start drinking?

The Dublin Site Seeing bus drops you off outside and l think you only can do guided tours of the gaol but its interesting - lve been before but lve been to most of the Dublin sites loads of times and this is really cool!!

Any thoughts?

Take a look here at the link Kilmainham Gaol

Something that has just occured to me in my stupidity. When is teh actual meeting(s?)?

Fri daytime? evening? Sat daytime? Evening? None of the above? All of the above? Some of the above?

Oh, and...

OR just had a brian wave! How about we all visit enmase Kilmainhaim Gaol - really

Sounds good. I've never been (well, to that specific prison), and am now intrigued and curious to see it for comparisons!

Our flight arrives at 9:45am on Friday - barring any delays, etc. Then however long it takes for them to let us out of the airport, deposit our stuff wherever... You get the idea... But, that doesn't mean whoever is there on Friday can't plan to do things.

I think Gelli just wants to be able to view one from the outside in rather than from his usual vantage point of from the inside out.

on the friday i'm flexible but its all depending on work etc.... for the saturday I think that Heather had the right idea about meeting at Trinity or somewhere easily found or recognisable, ( if we meet here we'll pick an exact spot probably inside the grounds as at the gate is too easy to miss people), then enmass heading to the gaol, afterwards pub grub and a few drinks is probably the easiest, if everyone prefers a restaurant we need to have accurate numbers soon so that we cabn book, (for those on a budget mongolian bbq is tasty and they have different menus depending on time), the problem with booking a place is that we're tying ourselves to a schedule, time wise to meet up that really depends on the majority of the group and were you're staying, for example as i'm a bit out of the city etc if we're meeting at 10, then i'm up just before 8 etc.....(be nice!!)

We'll also be a bit out of the centre, so I probably wouldn't be turning up for a 9am sat meet... However, nothing to stop the central folks being bright and early and meeting the stragglers later on.

Friday for me depends on sheer luck. In theory, i'll be there mid afternoon. However, that depends on a fairly tight connection in Belgium being met (experience shows me that since they changed the timings, it's hit and miss) and then a 35min mad scramble right across London, again very tight, but do-able. If they both work, i'm there. If not I won't be in Dublin, i think, until about 9.30pm, so will need to be able to contact somebody to work out where you all are to meet for a (by then) well needed drink.
