Hi,

I need to get to Boston from British Columbia for as cheap as possible without doing anything dangerous or risky.

I have checked out all the websites like Expedia and Travelocity and initially it looked like I was going to get a ticket for $225.00 but in the time it took me to go and get my Visa Card to book it, that price was gone and all I seem able to find now is $400-500 dollar tickets.

I anything but a seasoned traveller and hoping that somebody here may be able to offer some tips in the way of getting cheap airfares.

I was hoping to go in August as my boyfriend is on business there for the month but I simply cannot afford such large fares.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Also, how much do the fares change come September, after the summer rush is over ?

It isn't that nice but Greyhound is my suggestion.
I caught the bus from Boston to N.Y and D.C. to N.Y and it is by far your cheapest option.
I recommend getting a night bus for that kind of distance so you can have a kip....also get there way before the bus leaves so you can get yourself a good seat, sometimes they can get a little on the crowded side of things.

Oops disregard that...for some reason i thought you wrote D.C. not B.C.
It would take you just over 3 days by bus.

Yes...this is the cheapest option at $139.00 but the idea of being on the road in a stuffy, crowded bus for 3 days with almost no decent pit stops and no opportunity to have a shower is a little too much.

Thanks so much for your reply though.

That's the lowest price you see for Greyhound ??? If so, there is no way I would take the bus !!!

I am now, out of desperation, trying to find a way to get part way there by bus and then fly the rest of the way.

Going to check out Amtrak too but that's probably quite expensive.

I really want to get there becasue we have a seriously ill family member who does not have much time left. I would love to be able to see him before he dies.

Any suggestions at all as to how I could get from Vancouver, BC. to Boston or Hartford, CT would be fantastic. Would I have a better chance through a travel agent ?

Hey,

Try to check Seatle - Boston air tickets. I know sometimes my friends get to the east coast through Seatle
