Hey there

il be out in india from mid October till the end of Feb, wondering who else will be gracing india at the time.

Im 22, easy going artist/photographer and adore independent travelling. Im not looking for a companion for my whole trip, more curious as to who will be where and when in order to stop off, travel for a little with or just meet some interesting people along the way.

Take care

Hi there,
I will be in India from Oct 06- Dec. Also not looking for someone for the whole of my trip, as I am doing some voluntary work and would like to do some independent travel. Let me know a rough outline where you plan to go, then we can see if we'l be around the same region at the same time.
Cheers.

Hi there,

There are a couple of organisations I have been looking into. You may be suprised to know that you have to pay to volunteer abroad! Some places you dont, but if you want a planned and supported placement with all costs included you pay a fee. Some of the sits below put you in touch with local organisations, others are the organisations themselves.

www.ifrevolunteers.org
volunteeringindia.org
www.aidindia.org
www.rcdpnepal.org
www.globalcrossroads.com
www.yearoutindia.com

I think I may go with rcdp nepal as I want to do a placement in Delhi, however the yearoutindia in Kerala looks really good too. Let me know how you get on and if you decide to do one, we can exchange experiences!

Hi Natalia,

The period you have chosen is the peak season and the best season in INDIA for travellers.

Wherever you go you will meet many travellers both backpackers and high end travellers..so it is easy to get a travelling companion.

Hi Kayal,

There are some places where you DON'T NEED to pay to join a volunteer organisation and these organisations don't advertise much.
Those that ask you to pay a fee are mostly commercial organsiations and as such the Volunteer organisations they recommend don't get any money from you as these are pocketed by these introducers. So check out. If any volunteer organisations ask for a fee then it is ok as the money goes for a good cause.
