Hi, can anyone recommend a route to get to Killin, Perthsire, from London area? I have never been to scotland before and dont know if I am better heading up the A1, then to newcastle, then going up past Edinburgh, or if its better to head across country toward Liverpool and pick up the M6 to Glasgow?? or even more up the middle on the M1??
arrgh too many options on roads I dont know! Please, if anyone has any experience or advice, help a poor female driver (whoose passengers aren't too good at reading maps!)

Thanks very much Tracy

From London the most direct route is M1 onto M6 (North)
- use M6 toll road (costs £3.50 - have the exact money ready you throw it into a bin and it is checked and barrier rises!) to bypass the busy section of the M6
and continue on the M6 into Scotland and the the M74 look for signs to the M80 for Stirling.
The journey take about 8 hours driving time. Allow for times when the traffic may slow you for some stretches and stop times for food and fuel.
If you want more detail please contact me and I will be happy to help.

Hi Tracy - I sent you a PM, just checks out the directions section on MSN. Go to msn.co.uk and in the left-hand column under "Look it up" click on Maps and Directions. Click on get directions and put in a start and finish. You don't need full addresses.

Hi Tracy - agree with all that's said. Stirling is your target and because it is accessible to Glasgow and Edinburgh, you need only concentrate on the south-of-the-border bit in terms of time and traffic.

Good luck - you'll love the Killin area.
