I arrive in Hong Kong on the 6th August and the plans is to travel from Hong Kong across Southern China to Chengdu, along the way I'll be exploring Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan, taking in mountains, rivers, temples, food and whatever else the country has to offer - the itinerary is fairly flexible but definites are Tiger Leaping Gorge and Yangshuo. After Chengdu will be a quick visit to X'ian and then fly/ take the train to Tibet for the last couple of weeks in September.
Anyone interesting in joining me along the way?
I would like to know your impressions and thoughts as you visit these areas. I will be doing this trip in reverse in Jan 2007, flying into Beijing and taking the train to Xian onto Lhasa on the train then fly back to Chengdu through southern China and out through Hong Hong. I have been doing a lot of research on the area but some first hand impressions would be great.
I am doing pretty much the same trip at the moment, arrived in Hong Kong on July 16th and have worked my way along to Dali. And now I desperately want to go overland into Tibet. I think it would be absolutely amazing. Just wondering whether you'd be at all interested. I'm on my own and need to find ideally 3 more people...let me know if you'd be up for it! Would leave from Zhongdian, or could be done from Chengdu also...
Speak soon hopefully, Babs xxx
