Hi, I was wondering what a good salary is in Spain? I have a degree in Computer Science (2:1) and am looking at places like Madrid or Barcelona. A lot of jobs advertise at 21-24,000 this good? How does it equate in pounds (£)?

Hi Jon,

This works out roughly 14-16000 pounds - not at all impressive for a graduate with a 2:1. It just depends what you want . . . I'm guessing there's a reason other than work that's taking you to Spain. I'm not sure what the job market is like there.

Good luck.

Is this netto or brutto? 24000 brutto is 2000 EUR brutto per month. For Germany that is about average for a beginner who has just graduated from college or maybe with one or two years of experience, in some non-IT fields it is a dream salary. Cost of living is lower in Spain, you don't need a London salary there. I heard that a doctor makes between 1300 and 1900 netto a month. So I recon the pay is decent enough, but don't hold me to my word. You might get more based upon your skills, you might get less based upon that you might not speak sufficient Spanish.
