im confused... i thought the ultimate championships are in boston, is about a week?

id say, if youve got the time go the train. the middle of australia is really beautiful. ive wanted to do that trip in the 4WD for years...

ok cheers! i mean the main is obviously that you meet other young people (even if they are not backpackers) i just wanted to know what the craic was like on the train and if it can be good then ill definately consider it! planning on doing it with two friends.

Well I disagree with most people, ok, it's not the most spectacular train journey around, but the scenery from the journey will be more typical of Australia generally - the coasts, that's only a small part of the country. It depends on what type of person you are though I guess. I wasn't bored at all on the drive across the Nullabor, we took 3.5 days to do it and I would do it again. It's only 3 days after all, so I would advise you to do it if you've got plenty of time.

Think we are going to take the train. not so much for the scenery, more for the adventure and to be able to say 'we've done that'

One last question, purely train related. Is it possible to hop on and off the train at different stations?

I don't know, but you might be able to get some info from their website - or contact them via it to find out.

And to answer the PM you sent me, I had no intention of getting off between Alice and Adelaide, so didn't look into it.

well i found the information i was looking for. You can get off en route, for example adelaide, so long as you complete the journey within 60 days. Thanks for all the help!
