I am going to Peru for 4 weeks in September and have a little problem deciding what to take with me. I will be doing the "usual" tour: Lima, Nazca, Colca Canyon, Cuzco, Machu Picchu....
I read other threads about essential stuff to pack and all have been great help, but is there anything in particular that I should take with me to Peru?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated as this is my first trip to South America..... Did I mention that I can't wait....?
Nothing valuable! The risk of getting robbed is high. And you will need all sorts of clothes - both really warm clothes for the mountains, and shorts and swimsuit for the coastal area. But why don't you post in the South America forum instead?
Thanks a lot for the advice
It has been moved now.... thanks a lot.... I am not that familiar with posting process yet, but learning...
If you have space, bring some warm kid's clothing & books. I make some room for these items and donate them to local organizations. There are several agencies in Cusco that assist street children as well as families in the highlands.
I would focus on whatever clothes you need and less on toilettries and medication ect. I brought so much of that extra little stuff and it is quite easy to find here. I have been in South America 4 months now and am still lugging around 1/3 of a pack full of toilettries and pills. You can find it here!
Any suggestions maybe on what people haven't been able to find here that they would suggest bringing?
