Hey I am going to be travelling to Auz in mid october and i fancy myself a beer drinker as well as a person who enjoys the occasional cigar. What kinds of beer and cigars do they have down under?

The title of this thread got my attention!

The main beers down under are probably Victoria Bitter and Tooheys. Both are around 5% and superb tasting! None of those poor 4% beers like Carling. I think there were only 3 or 4 days on my entire trip that I didnt have a beer. Not everywhere does pints though... schooners or stubbies only in some places... took a bit of getting used to!

As for cigars... only smoked one on the whole trip... the night England beat the Aussies to become champions of the world (and don't have a clue which sort it was)

Here in Australia cases of beer consist of 24 bottles or cans. The cans and bottles are 375ml, and for a case of local beer- Tooheys, Victoria Bitter(VB), Carlton Draught or XXXX depending on where you are in Australia you will pay between $30-$40 a case. Imported beer including Heineken, Becks and Stella are atleast $45 a case and can go up anywhere to over $65+

Drink Up!
