Hi all, I'm heading down to Liverpool this weekend.

Question is . . . what is there? The last time I went down, we walked past the Beatles museum and the Albert Docks. As far as I cold tell, that was the extent of the tourist industry.

I'm guessing that I'm wrong here. So what else is there to see?

A Beatles museum isn't enough? Some people are picky. ;)

Sorry . . . like them but, not a fan. Is that wrong???

I can't even begin to explain how wrong that is! If CC were here I'd request a prompt whipping followed by a good soak in vinegar.

But I wouldn't get punished?

Geez... I didn't know that you like to be whipped and soaked in vinegar, Tina.

Don't knock the benefits of a good vinegaring! Does wonders for taking the durain smell out of one's hair. Or, what's left of it. ;)

ANYWAY . . . Liverpool. Is there anything to see / do? I'll have the car, so I can visit the surrounding areas too. I'm staying in Widnes.

You could go to the tate modern art gallery, down at the docklands, and theres another art gallery near one of the uni's. There both good to spend a couple hours. And of course its the north so some some real mens drinking establishments.

This may help::)

Out and About
Escape the city with a visit to Knowsley Safari Park, and - while you're in Knowsley, drop in to the National Wildflower Centre. Both Croxteth Hall and Country Park, and Speke Hall boast stunning architecture and lovingly tended gardens, while the windswept beauty of Wirral Country Park is the ultimate escape.

Arts & Culture in Liverpool
Spend a morning at the new World Museum Liverpool, or Museum of Liverpool Life at the Albert Dock -- they're great for family outings this half term. Art lovers shouldn't miss the Walker Art Gallery, and Tate Liverpool - or the Liverpool Biennial if you're visiting between September and November

Maritime Liverpool
Trace the thread of maritime history through Liverpool, starting at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. From the museum, head down to the Pier Head and Three Graces, before taking a Mersey Ferry across the river, where you can visit Spaceport at the Seacombe terminal.

Enjoy
