I'll be going to Australia and staying in Canberra for 2 weeks before I start travelling. I was wondering what kind of plans I should go with?
I mean should I be buying any tickets for tours and stuff now?
Or should I go and get some form of 2000km bus pass or something whilst I'm there and just stop wherever tickles my fancy on the way?
I've got a basic idea of a few places I want to stop at but that's about it.
Was just wondering how much I ought to know before I go?
It depends when you're going. If there is something you specifically want to do then I would suggest booking it now.
Personally I would do as much research now as you can so you know where to go & where to avoid. If you have a few ideas of where you want to go, see how you can get there & if a travel pass for a bus would get you there, then if it does go with that, as then you can get off the bus wherever you like whilst still visiting the places you want.
My plan is not to plan, because you will never know what you are doing, who you will meet, what you will like or dislike! See where the wind takes you!!! You may have booked a ticket somewhere and not want to go and then you have just wasted a lot of money!
Hi sam forget canberra
If your coming to australia see the east coast line thats our best asset
northern new south wales
Canberra 's cold and full of politics, porn ,and shit laws
Even sydney or melbourne is much better
I live in brisbane its got heaps of stuff to do! about $250return airfare
to the more southern states.
i notice you are from the uk. any no bullshit advice you could give me
about my trip to the uk.things that are must or must no see while im over in september.
Anyhow hope ive helped
Oh God- not wanting to start prejudice against our nation's capital or anything but you do NOT need more than 3 days in Canberra!!! Seriously. There is nothing to do there except various tours through parliament house and the War Memorial, which after my bagging Canberra- is an absolute must see! (The War Memorial I mean- parliament house can easily be passed!)
My honest advice to you is- dramatically shorten the duration you plan (or don't plan!) to spend in Canberra. Get to a coast line as fast as possible!!!
