I've just started planning an enourmous trip to India with my fiance, and wanted to visit Nepal and Tibet too.. I know accomodation can be very cheap, but I was wandering about the practicalities of camping most of the time in these countries?
Any ideas would be much apprieciate...
In India there really is no need to camp, since accomidation is well under $10 a night even for a nice room. The hassle of carrying your own tent and sleeping bag just doesn't seem worth it to me.
If you are camping for the enjoyment of camping, there are lots of options for hiking up in the himalayas were camping is the only option. I don't know since I've never been, but no doubt Nepal will be much the same.
I have no idea about camping but i can give you suggestions for at hotels staying.Pl. tell me which cities you are planning to visit. Then I can reply better.
Camping wont be necessary - but if u do check out any mountain ranges - u cud do it ... jus not the himalayas , even nilgiris and the western ghats...but it might be good to get a sleeping bag, if u are going for cheap accomodation - u nvr know when it will come in handy !
Never have seen one campsite in India.
