I am thinking of heading to Bali for about a week this month (am in cambodia right now), but I'm a little worried about the safety situation right now. I read something about a tsunami warning for Bali after the recent tsunami and earthquake off java, and this canadian government warning about indonesia I read warned of recent threats of kidnappings by terrorists etc. Is this all really true, or just hype? Is there a high risk from natural or terrorist threats on the Islands? Please help clarify this if you are there, or were there recently1
Sorry, it was an Australian - not Canadian - government warning. Rather severly worded. check it out:
Thanks again, hoping to hear from you soon!
The Canadian gov't warns against all non essential travel to Bali and their warnings are just as dire as the Australian government.
Bali is as safe as my backyard... go there with no hesitation despites the warning... no terrorist is going to kidnap anyone there... is a party haven where people just wanna have fun... the security is good there with locals guarding many of the happening places throughout Bali, it's SAFE! I go there every month!
