Travel Forums System Talk Searching...

... probably me not working it properly, but what about adding search by author?

I was going to send a PM to somebody, but couldn't find a directory of members or a way of searching by user name, so i had to hunt through the forum posts until i found one that they had replied to/been involved with, which wasn't particularly quick.

Hey Rich,

It's on the front page!! I'm not sure that it's there for all types of custom templates you can choose, but it should at least be there when you are logged out and as part of the 'forum' template (see control panel). Search is by username, firstname or surname. It can also be found under the 'reunions' tab with quite a few more search options, including what countries they visited and where they may be from. It may be an idea to include it on the forum search page as well though, just for those who don't necessarily see the front page too often ;)

Cheers, Peter

p.s. here's a link to the most advanced member search area currently available:

Sorry. In my semi dunken state it never occured to me to look under travel friends or reunions sections

I do look at the front page quite often, i just assumed that the travel friends reunited thing was where there would be adverts like "my names Herman. trying to trace an Inuit guy called Dave i met in North Korea in 92. We travelled together for a couple of months. I was the pink haired Albanian guy. He had 7 fingures on one hand, dreadlocks and was a member of the tooting libertaion front. Anybody any informatuon/idea where he might be, please let me know"

My apologies for my stupidity

You know Dave?? I've been looking for him since that very same trip in 92. Can you put me back in touch with him... I don't have pink hair anymore but....
