Go to Utrecht!

Nice historic university city in the centre of the netherlands, convenient small centre with typically dutch canals, lots of pubs and restaurants.

And from Maastricht, it's easy to get to Brugge or Gent in Belgium. Both worth a visit too!

You're off on the right foot. Maastricht is definitely the nicest town in the Netherlands - be sure to look around the old city.

The Hague is nice. Forget Rotterdam.

Hello,
I love the Netherlands very much: so peaceful and charming! I have travelled there quite much for a few months (it's a small country you know) and I love the old towns of Maastricht, Dordretch, Delf, The Hague, Amsterdam, Groningen, Aalkma, Volendaam, etc. I love cycling on the dikes, through fields and shady roads. I love walking in parks. I love the Keukenhof (the biggest tulip flower park in the world - only open for a short time in April - May), Kinderdijke with many windmills, Madurodam with miniatures of the Netherlands highlights, and of course the impressive private gardens with so many beautiful flowers, so on and so forth.

You will have a great time there.
I will be pleased if you would like to share with me your comments and feelings on this country and this trip.

Thi

Forget about Rotterdam.
Instead, do not forget Delft and Leiden. Both are old student towns with beautiful canals and historic buildings.
Enjoy your trip.

Thank u all again. I'll tell how it has been when I'm back!

Hop over to Brussels (lot of things going on at the moment, events, festivals and lot of excellent bars out there. Get in touch with -snip and you will get a shortlist of bars, events fitted to your own profile. I did it myself and had quite a good time out there. Just half an hour from Brussels you will find Gent and lot of info is reachable at use-it.be . Quit interesting I must say. Good luck. Ademas, en -snip vas encuentrar mucho gente que hablan espanol tambien. Hasta luego.

Agree with Delft, Leiden and Utrecht, they're all beautiful places and definitely worth a visit!

Don't miss out on Haarlem as well, it's very near Amsterdam and is a really neat place. Also, Den Bosch is serene and lovely.
