Yeah, must agree on Italy too! (forgot it in my earlier thread).

Unfortunately can't comment on anywhere in Asia or Australasia as I have never been there. Boo!

I am with the crowd that feels there is too much variety in the world to find it all in one place. Sadly, life is too short to see it all, but we can try. Some favorites for diversity, food, history and culture: Italy, Turkey and Morocco (small country with world class beaches, mountains & deserts). Wonderful people can be found everywhere.

Too bad about Zoom “Everything I'm saying is 100% factual.”… that small of a mind is an embarrassment to any country.

loving this thread!
iam pretty much going for the Argentina vote - beautiful people, great food, amazing countryside, skiing, surfing, mountains, lakes, dinosaurs (really!), culture.....etc etc.
Unfortunately I also agree with Zooms comments on USA - not wanting to offend anyone as there is good and bad in every country the world. Great people when travelling, but stereotypical when at home!
Does Spain have a chance at being a have it all??? Fantastic food and wine, great climate, beautiful beaches, mountains, lovely language, lots of history??????

Bet Spain is quite amazing. Unfortunately I've never been to Spain. So I can't comment on it.

He's right. He's also joking with you, and you took the bait, line and sinker. :)

Measured in square kilometers, Auckland is one of the largest cities in the world (1,086 km² according to wikipedia. For comparison, Los Angeles clocks in at 1,290.6 km²)

I'm starting to dislike threads like these, btw. Too many people who feel they must disagree with others' opinions, rather than sticking to giving their own. But for whatever it's worth, going by the criteria that I personally consider important (there's really only two: availability of cheesecake and of Lake Tekapo - what more could you want?), New Zealand "has it all". :)

You missed out Speights beer, Central Otago, the Catlans, Westland, the West Coast.
and Dunedin is one of if not the largest city by size 3314.8km² about 3 times the size of Auckland with only a 10th the population.
City of sails or the pretty city? - mine is Dunedin the pretty city

Well put, Sander! Not everything needs to be debated. But...

HA! I knew we'd find your weakness sooner or later!!!!!!

Personally, I'm voting for my own back yard. It has everything I need and/or want while I'm here. When I'm not - then the country I'm visiting has it all because that's where I chose to be at that time. Ireland will have it all for me shortly as that's where we're headed off to next. ;)

i know New Zealand is a very very nice country but its just my opinion... i think Aus has alot more to offer.

I think the east coast of Aus has more to offer than most of NZ

The city of Melbourne down south,Mount bulla, Hotham and falls creek for good skiing, Torquay and bells beach(one of the best surf beaches in the world) up to Sydney(one of the finest cities in the world for just about every reason), up to the fine beaches and surf of Byron bay, up to more fine beaches and surf with loads of sunshine in the Gold Coast, the city of Brisbane, up to yet again more sunshine and surf on the Sundshine coast, heading up to the tropics fraiser island(the biggest sand island in the world) and amazing place, then cairns and all the Whitsunday islands( absoulutely stunning beaches) then theres the Great barrier reef which is one of the natural wonders of the world for obvious reasons, then head up to port douglas and the Daintrees etc for some fantastic beaches and tropical rainforests with some of the best diving in the world!!!!

AND THATS JUST THE EAST COAST!!!!!

so can you see why I think Aus has more to offer than NZ?

USA, doesn't have it all cause a lot of the people are really ignorant - Bush supporters, religious fanatics, people TOTALLY unaware of most of the rest of the world, etc., etc. (I live here part time so I deal with it daily - sorry but it's true) but geographically has a lot to offer. Also, I like men. Just use an Ipod all the time when in public so you don't have to deal with the people unless you can suss out they have a bit of a brain (Please no complaints, I was born here but travel a lot. Everything I'm saying is 100% factual - after 80 countries and decades of travel it becomes kind of OBVIOUS).

There you have it, Zoom

I just wanted to point out that you must not have met many people. I live in the middle of the desert and have met many people who are interested in Europe. They also pay really close attention to world politics and situations. I have seen this before. The majority of this board dislikes America and you are trying to sound cool. I have said some things before, because I don't agree with everything that goes on with my country, and I would also love to live in Europe. But do you know what a big problem that America has? The people are ungrateful that we have the freedoms and liberties that we have. You are what is wrong with America. Your profile says USA citizenship. If you hate it so much, grow some balls and revoke your citizenship, and don't even come back. Don't just come on the internet and say you are a 100% factual. That means you have experience and talked to 100% of Americans. My last point is religious fanatics? Yup there are some people who hate abortion and shot abortion doctors. But you don't see us walking into an Irish Pub and blowing up people because they are Protestant, nor do we want Israel wiped off the face of the earth.
I wish America had the national pride that other countries had. I guess if we had a good soccer team to really argue about it would be better? America has a lot to offer. We have many varying climates, beautiful scenery, people who won't blow you up, you gain money if you have Euros or pounds, kind people who don't get mad if you don't speak French, Government pageantry in our capital, many many excellent museums, some of the hottest women on the planet, excellent movies and cinema (seems like overseas depends on us for movies), Broadway, history of tolerance, Las Vegas, architecture of every style, and the list could go on for hours. I apologize for the Bush family, Wal-mart, and Mcdonald's though!!!
