Hello, I have poised the question to a dedicated travel helper but always like to hear the opinion of the masses...
I am hoping to get employment in Southern Greece, possibly starting September or January. Could you please tell me how it is for a woman travelling alone...? Do I need to cover up in certain areas? What is the weather like during the winter months? What is the suggested cost of living per month? I hope to get accommodation but will need to pay for utilities out of my salary.
Im actually getting excited about the prospect, Ive done a little online search of what's to see and do, and it looks all good, especially with my love of historic buildings and architecture.
Can anyone suggest any ex-pat places around Athens, to stop me feeling homesick?
Where do you think I must visit?
Life in Greece is allways different and free. I am sure you won't face any problems - apart from the language - but only in a few cases. if you could specify the area or the city in the South, I could give you a few more info. Still, have in mind that the South is allways warmer than the North during the winter and quite different by the sea (Northern areas survive in temperatures like
-12 C or less with heavy snow). However, no matter what your job may be, you will taste a warm and easy way of living! And yes, you can travel alone as much as you want - no problem on that too!
Don't hesitate to ask ...
