Hello! Me and my friend are planning to have a trip of 3-4 weeks in New Zealand arounf August necxt Year.. We were thinking of doing it in a Campervan and visiting mostly the North Island. Now my concern is if the weather will be ok at this time of year. Due to work obligations we cannot visit the country in january-february, so we have to stick to July - August.
Does anyone have experience with this?
any help would be welcome!
I travelled around NZ last August in a campervan. The weather was cold and crisp, but it didn't hinder our activities (whale watching, hiking) and having the heater on at night meant a comfortable nights sleep.
My boyf and I travelled all the way from Auckland to Queenstown and back again (maybe there's a better way to do it that this!), but I'd definitely recommend heading down to the south island as it's the start of the ski season and the scenery down there is amazing.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
