hello,

Is it a better idea to book tickets online for museums - louvre in paris, Rijksmuseum and van gogh museum in Amsterdam or should they be booked on site?

rgds,
Rohit

Mmmm... if you're keen on visiting museums in the Netherlands, I suggest you get the Museum Card which will give you access to the various museums in the country, instead of booking tickets online. That was what I did when I went to Holland a couple of years ago. Saved me a lot of trouble.

You can get the Museum Card at both the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum - just fill in a form and pay the fee.

Not sure if the same applies for the Louvre, though.

It really depends on when your going to the museums (tourist season/ school holidays etc.) but when I went to the Louvre I just bought my ticket from one of the automats there and didn't have to wait in any queues.
