hey heard a bunch of storys from people that you tend to lose a bit of beef when travelling through oz due to being active and not eating all that much because of the heat??
any truth in this????
if so it might be good for shifting those last few pounds!:)

In a months time I gained 5 kilos (after losing 3 in Sydney 'cause I was soo broke I couldn't afford a proper meal)!

If we're being honest here, I really hope to loose a fair bit of weight when I travel. still want to stay curvey, but loose the excess if you know what I mean!!!! ;)
I'm sure 3 months of rice & spicy food in Asia will help. I'll just have to limit myself when I get to countries with more 'substantial' foods! Still, I'm a senisble person & won't miss out on the pleasures of cultural foods.

Note to self: I must say farewell to Mr. Cadbury's & Mr. McVities.

I have to agree with the general feeling of this thread, being Australian and spending last year in Europe, I have gained weight since being back..
Lots of unhealthy snacks, and large meal sizes don't help though :)

i reckon with the amount of walking you'd be doing and the fact you prob wont eat as much as you would at home, you're bound to not put on any weight at least.

thats wot am hoping anyway :)

It definitely depends on what you're eating, and of course your budget. There are a lot of fast food stores in Australia, and the classic "pub meals" are often large and can be quite fattening (of course these are probably the cheaper options). However, luckily Australia is made up of many different cultures and that means we basically have every type of food here and there are plenty of healthier choices.

You will exercise a lot as it's a large country with plenty to see, but if you are choosing the healthier options you should be fine. Actually, I must say, Australia has a lot more healthy choices to consume, even at the fast food chains. Even McDonalds can now offer you something alright to eat (not that I'd want to be eating McDonalds in the first place).

I put on a stone in 7 months.... mind you, that may have had something to do with all the VB, JD, Kebabs and McDonalds!! But hey, you gotta have a good time, whats the point in worrying about your weight when you are having the time of your life!!
