Ok im just wondering if the outlets in the UK are simular to the outlets in the USA. Cause im bringing a portable dvd player with a charger to the UK. Anyone know? thanks

They're not. The UK uses much wider prongs. You need an adapter for the plug, which you can buy at the airport (or at any radioshack) for a couple of bucks. Also make certain your DVD player can handle the much higher voltage in the UK (230V versus 110V for the USA), otherwise you'll need to buy a voltage converter as well (don't know how expensive those are, but quite a bit more than just the simple adapter).

actually a plug adapter would work my i just looked at my adapter for the DVD player and it says: INPUT: 100-240V - 50/60Hz 1.5A MAX
OUTPUT +9.5V ---3A (whatever that means) but i guess it can handle the UK voltage
