Just wondering if any could help.
I am wanting to travel down from Copenhagen to Liechtenstein but need to know the best way to do so. I cant seem to find any flights or train services but maybe i'm just not looking in the right spots. If anyone knows 1)how to get btw the two places and 2) for the cheapest price i would greatly appreciate it.
Lichtenstein does not have an airport. So you would either have to get a flight to Zurich (Switzerland) and then take the train to Vaduz (Lichtenstein). Otherwise you might also want to visit Munich and then take the train to Vaduz (5 hours).
Or you might consider taking the train all the way, but it is a 20 hour train ride.
One other possibility which came just up my mind is, to go to Hamburg and then take easyjet to Basel (Switzerland). From Basel zu Lichtenstein it takes about 2.5 hours.
I hope this was any help to you.
Thanks Kat for your suggestions - you have been a great help - i am looking into your easy jet suggestion otherwise i think i'll just train it.
If you are planning to take the train for the last part then there are more options to get cheap flights (for instance with sterling)
Here you will find a list of all the cheap flights from copenhagen
I actually do this journey on a regular basis on the train.
There are lots of permutations, but in general i get the night train from Kobenhavn to Munich, then the Zurich train as far as Bregenz, followed by local train to Feldkirk and bus. The other main option is to go via Zurich (Copenhagen to Hamburg, then eitehr day or night train to Zurich) and then get a train out to Buchs, or, sometimes, Sargans [look for trains heading to either Zurich or Salzburg, or much more frequent ones to Chur] and the bus or walk from there. There is currently a portion of the same Copenhagen - Munich night train which goes to Basle in Switzerland, and you can go from there to Buchs/Sargans, although you often have to change in Zurich.
Depending on exact timings and how you feel etc, there are a few other ways you can cut through Southern Germany (from Stuttgart via Zurich or Koblenz and St. Margaretting), and Ulm or Augsburg (via Lindau and then Feldkirk).
I drive it occassionally. It is busable via Munich or Zurich. I don't fly so can't offer first hand advice there, although Zurich aiport is easily accessible to Liechtenstein, whilst Innsbruck or Freiderichshafen (Ryanair, in southern Germany by Lake Konstanz - the home of Zeppelins) are all options, as is Munich.
For the end part, although you can get a train to Liechtenstein, there are only a few infrequent shuttle trains between Feldkirk (A) and Buchs (Ch) which stop in the country - the Eurocity and Night trains go straight through without stopping - and it is much easier to take the Liechtenstein postbus, which is frequent from Feldkirk (A), Buchs and Sargans (Ch) and leaves from the railways stations of all 3. And depending on exactly where you are going to in FL, walking from eitehr of those 3 main stations or one or two smaller ones (on the Swiss side) is also easy.
If you want to ask in more detail, just ask! ((Depending exactly when you are going, I may even be able to give you a lift, or at least travel down with you which is normally cheaper)
