What is the fast train that goes Shanghai-to-Shenzhen?

I need to know what "fast" train goes from Shanghai to Shenzhen? I'm having trouble finding it. I know one goes to Hong Kong, but since the Shenzhen train station is on the border with Hong Kong anyways, I thought it be cheaper to just head to Shenzhen and take Public transport to Hong Kong center?

Thanks!

There's only 1 train from Shanghai to Shenzhen, like it or not. L139 departs Shanghai at 1443 and arrives in Shenzhen at 1533, total journey time 24h50min. It's about 315-339 RMB for hard sleeper and 508/530 RMB for soft sleeper.

It is cheaper to go to the border and then get a train from Shenzhen, than use the through train, although as Ellyse says, there is only one.

Another option which is also cheaper than the through train from HK to Shanghai is to get a train (or bus) from HK to Guanghzhou (cheapest to change at the border in Shenzhen, still a saving of 100yuan or so to get the through HK - Guanghzhou train), and then get a train from there to Shanghai

There're 3 trains coming to Shanghai from Guangzhou, but it won't be of much help as they invariably take about the same amount of time for the journey, if not more. Plus Guangzhou is further than Shenzhen from Hong Kong.

I think taking the train Shanghai-Shenzhen is better because you can go through the border easily. There are only limited train scheduled from Guangzhou to Hongkong, but there are many from shenzhen to hongkong, about every 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Guangzhou railway station is very crowded and complicated, so you may find it difficult to buy tickets or find your train. The Shenzhen railway station is less busy and safer.
