I am new to the Travellerspoint. I am currently in the market for walking shoes for my trip to Western Europe in March. I am going to Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Prague for 12 days total. Last time I went to Europe (Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Munich, Berlin) I wore regular sneakers and got wicked bad blisters. I would like to buy a pair fairly soon so that I can break them in. Anyway, I have a desk job and flat feet, so I am not really accustomed to walking much. I am looking for shoes that have good arch support and traction, but are also black and don't necessarily look like a sneaker. I know this is a challenging task.
Anyway, the question I pose to you (girls) is: what shoe should I get? I am not much of a sneaker person to begin with, so I don't really know how to buy them and what to look for. I know that we will be doing ALOT of walking. It is a group tour thing, with a busy schedule and lots of transporting.
I went to the mall the other day and tried on the Keen Blvd Bronx shoe and although they really were not the style I was looking for, they felt extremely comfortable. They also make my feet look smaller when I had my pant leg down. Has anyone tried this shoe? If so, did you like it, how comfortable was it? The clerk at the store said he had about 9 different styles of Keens and he loves them. If you haven't had experience with Keen, could you suggest any other types for me to look at and try on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to make sure you had the info you need to make an appropriate reply. Any questions, please ask.
