I'll be spending about 14 hours at Changi airport enroute returning from Europe to NZ next month.
Do the food outlets there accept any currencies other than Singapore dollars, preferably Euro or Aus $.
I don't fancy having to fork out extra foreign exchange commission fees for the sake of changing a handful of Singapore $, could use c/card but will then also get stung with cr*ppy exchange rates and whatever fees they decide to hit me with.

you can pay with Euros and Aust $ in Changi Airport. But exchange rates applies. Since you have quite a few hours, I suggest you change about 15- 20 Euros (S$30 - S$40) if you intend to buy some food.
Doubt there is much exchange loss as you aren't going to change that much money.
You should also go for the free tour the airport provides for transit passengers. (abt 2 - 3 hours in total) and you will still have plenty of time to rest at the airport.
If you want to try local food at the airport (provided you have left the restricted areas), try asking around for the terminal 1 canteen at basement 1. Good food at good prices (without having to go to town to find local food). Do note that they only accept Singapore dollars at this place.

I've done the free trip into town before (yes, I have been to Changi, but didn't know the answer to my own question as is was paying with a company C/Card at the time ), and certainly intend to do it again. It's a great service.
Might also have to splurge $13 on the pool/showers to help pass some time.
