Hi sorry to add yet another money question, but as I read other peoples budgets I start to worry about mine. My Boyf and I are travelling for a year mainly in Australia (8mths)some in NZ the Pacific Islands and California- so not the cheapest countries! We have approx £11,500- £12,00 between us and was only really planning on working for 4-6wks. Is this unrealistic- bearing in mind we are not really party people, so clubbing costs isn't an issue. We would like to do some tours and activities though.
Please reply... anyone!

Im in the same boat as you (Kind of)
Im planning a year long trip on my own with only £6000. I dont really want to work too much and i plan to travel around Australia and then on to Thailand. I know it must be possible but i am a little worried.
I also have a friend who is going to America, Africa then on to New Zealand with her boyfriend and they plan to only take £6000 between them for a year. They are working in New Zealand though. What i was getting at is you may have to put in a tiny bit of work but im sure you will be fine. Lots of people do it with much less money and they get by.
Hope i have been a tiny bit of help and that you have a lovely trip!

Well good luck to you Smythy... I admire the guts and as long as your happy then good on you! I myself really would be shitting myself if i only had £2000, but then again if your planning on working alot then this isn't impossible!
