I degraded from travel guru to respected member

Somebody dethroned you. Work harder to regain your title! ;)

Hien is correct... There are a limited number of Respected and Guru positions. (I may be wrong about the Respected part...) But again, it all goes by postings, ratings, photo uploads, blogs, etc. Start answering more questions and add some photos!! Take back your rightul place in TP society!! ;)

Is it possible to dethrone a moderator to a first time poster..?;)

I know what happened. I removed my travelblog!!! That was a terrible mistake with fatal consequences for my travel guru status. I will cry myself to sleep tonight:(

Are you hinting at something in particular??? Looking at your post count - you have 76 at this moment - too late!!!! And Phil is correct - the Daams Vader have supreme power... Danger Will Robinson!!! Oh wait - wrong movie....

Bad Wouterrr!!!! Instead of crying, may I suggest writing a new blog... Rumor has it the best thoughts come in the middle of the night. If you're sleeping, you might miss them... You can call it "Ramblings of the Sleep-Deprived Wandering Wouterrr". If it's really good, Phil might just turn it into a documentary... ;)

That's been done, Alan Berliner made a movie about sleep deprivation, can't remember what it's called but they screened it at the documentary festival in Donegal this year.

That may be... But it wasn't Wouterrr's sleep deprivation... He may have a new insight that ol' Alan didn't cover in his film. ;)

It may be in the discussion somewhere already (sorry guys, but I don't read ALL of it), but I feel that somehow postings should weigh more heavily than other stuff. To me, the postings are what makes this site worthwhile; everything else is icing on the proverbial cake, and my guess is that this goes for the majority of users.

For me, by now having about 400 posts, of which (I hope) some 75% contains useful information, it is slightly frustrating at times to see full members with only 3 or 4 posts... childish, isn't it?

:)

I think otherwise. It's very easy to just post and post and post a lot of stuff, without giving information at all. That way it will become just another forum site. And travellerspoint is more than that fortunately. So pictures, travelhelp, blogs does matter in my opinion.
I can easlily look on the internet to answer a lot of questions on the forum, without having any experience myself.

Another thing that is downright illogical, is the fact that only full members and up can report spam. Shouldn't the ability to do that at least be directly related to one's activity on the forums rather than to anything else? It's kinda inconvenient that I have to alert a moderator all the time I encounter spam, while someone with a mere 4 or 5 posts could mark them himself...
