hey mate,
If your meeting up with oz intro why don't you just book yourself into surfside backpackers at coogee for the few days till your oz intro starts......they run there tours from there anyway so you'll be settled in a bit before your trips start....it's pretty cheap and it's not far from the airport anyway.

Hi Scotty,

Have a look at these sites for an overview of Hostels and costs in Sydney.

http://www.hostelz.com/hostels/Australia/New-South-Wales/Sydney

http://www.bcl.com.au/sydney/sydneybackpackers.htm

or a full list at:

Coogee is right on the beach and there are backpackers hostels down there.

Good luck with your travels here. Hope you enjoy it.

With regards

Kathryn

i stayed in a couple of hostels in sydney. I stayed in wake up! which is about 2 mins walk from central station, and is a greta place to stay. Its a large hostel and you may pay that bit more for it, but to be honest it was my fav hostel that i stayed in while in oz (and i travelled for like 7 months!). Its also in a central location, with everything close by such as supermarkets, shops, bars, cafes, etc.
