Viva la Italia!
This post is to bring the southern Italians out to a discussion, or at the very least anyone who has been to Sicily. I am looking to put together an itenerary for my lazy friend and I. If anyone can relate some experiences and advice to embody the spirit of southern Italy and the islands please insert here:
I really love ocean/beaches, fishing, some hiking (not that much though), history/culture; this region seems to be steep in history and lore. Wine, Spirits and Beer, and olive skined women with fendy bags and bad attitudes.
Any encouragement as to where the best spots for any or all of these indulgences (personal opinions required) is greatly appreciated!
Graci, tanti suluti

I went for about a week & stayed nr Mt Etna. It was very relaxing.
We hired a car to go & see something (can't even remember what now) & promptly crashed it! They drive like mad & we were convinced we would crash in the middle of town, but we were ok until we got out into the country, then slam! So we spent the rest of the day in someone's house, none of us being able to understand each other trying to fill out the forms for the insurance! It was an experience but if you hire a car, be careful
