Antique/Flea Markets in London?

Travel Forums Europe Antique/Flea Markets in London?

Can someone advise me where (and which day) to go to London to find antique jewellery? Where the best markets are for vintage stuff? And as morbid as this sounds - are estate sales advertised in the newspapers??? (If so, which ones?). Thanks heaps.

London isn't going to be that cheap for antique jewellery I would imagine. From memory Portobello Market is the one with the most of that kind of stuff.

Yes, Portobello Road (Notting Hill) market has a lot of antique stalls. Saturday is the best day to visit. There is a large group of antiques shops in Angel (Camden Passage). Other antique places are Bermondsey Street Market and Alfie's Antique Markets but I don't know much about these. There are several books on London Markets which might help and I expect the best newspaper for estate sales would be Evening Standard or auction house websites.

Yeah, Portabelo is amazing on a friday if your into vintage clothes, not cheap though.

Also Spitalfields market in east london on thurs and sundays and Greenwich market on sundays are both very trendy cool places to find antique/vintage jewelry and bits and pieces.

Hope this helps :)
