Im about to go to Australia (Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne) and New Zealand. Where would you suggest the best (ie height, price, experience) place to skydive. Im not going to Cairns or to Queenstown.

Lake Taupo on the North Island in NZ was very good and (If I remember correctly) was also amongst the cheapest. We did a tandem jump, I'm not too sure if you can do solo's (If that's what you want?)
Can't remember how high etc. but the experience was brilliant!

I did the one in Taupo... was the cheapest in NZ and still is...

if u go there in summer time u should be lucky enough with the weather, otherwise u might miss out, bec of the unpredictable weather, that loves to change, when u r waiting to go skydiving...;)

I did a skydive in mission beach, i had a pretty bad experience becuase there was a thunderstorm at the time and they still decided to go for it!
So i spent 60 seconds on the way down getting battered by hail stones! good experience though!
I think skydive companies in australia are a bit more relaxed on thos type of things, where as in new zealand they wont jump if there is a bit of a high wind.
I did my seconds jump in Taupo in new zealand which was amazing! from start to finish it was brilliant, and so much cheaper! i think it was around $130. think its one of the cheapest in the world.
Another place to consider is Franz Joseph, you jump with in between the mountains and the glaciers, its so amazing! but quite a bit more expensive

Your have an amazing experience with anyone of these three

I did a sky dive at Fox Glacier in NZ. It wasn't the cheapest but was absolutely amazing, and you get a nice scenic flight on the way up!

i went skydiving, and took my girlfriend as a surprise for her birthday. We had the most AMAZING time!!

we drove up to the Gong'' from Sydney, Australia. we had never been to Wollongong before and Wollongong was a beautiful place. The drop zone was right on the beach. The experience was once in a lifetime, and was one of the best adrenaline rush you will ever receive.

i would recommend this to anyone and everyone!

thinking of doing bungy jumping next or even a solo dive

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

You might care to try the website who jump at Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast about 100kms north of Brisbane.

I dont know anything about skydiving but this group does seem to have people jumping almost every day when conditions are right. I see them from my balcony most mornings. They seem to do tandem jumps from 10,000 ft and land on Coolum Beach. I had a quick look at their website and the cost for a tandem jump for 1 person is $299 - cheaper for larger groups. i cant tell if this is cheap or expensive but you may care to research them. Hope that this helps.

You can do them near Abel Tasman national park which is a beautiful area of New Zealand.
