Welcome to TP Herr Pfeiffer!!

Everything Isadora said......I repeat. I'd love to live in an old factory building.

The road biking comment reminds me of a friend in Muhlheim an der Ruhr who is an avid rider.

Also, you should be able to change your username...many others have.... as long as the name you choose is not already taken by another. Though I rather like wombat....

Enjoy

Guten Tag Kevin, und willkommen in TP.

It could be worse. You could have picked a username like "MikeyBoab".

Hope to see you around the forums. Perhaps you can bring some of that German efficiency with you.

Sorry, it'll have to be American efficiency. Or is that Expat-efficiency? Anyhow my efficiency is seasonal, at best. :)

Looking forward to seeing the picture(s)!!!!

This one just in:
Wollgarnfabrik

This is the "first courtyard"...

Places in Berlin can have two or even three "backyards" or "courtyards", one after another. That was once a way to stuff more working-class families onto a small piece of property and was eventually outlawed (after the turn of the century?), but today such a "back courtyard" (Hinterhof) is often considered to to be a precious oasis of calm and quiet in the city.

(Hmmm, the site also has a way of swallowing empty lines unless I double them.)

But I don't want to change my user name. I want the forum to use my "screen name". A user name is the name a user uses (so to speak) when he or she logs in. A screen name is the name that appears to other forum users.

But I think I am probably beating a dead horse here and don't expect that my pointing this out is going to change anything. Oh, well. At least they could tell you this when one is registering.
