I’m looking for one or more traveling companions to explore Europe for 2, or more, months.
I’m a 35 year old guy from Australia (a bit old I know, but better late than never) and will be traveling Europe around the beginning of July. I’m looking at visiting several counties, e.g. Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Greece, Holland, etc, in no particular order, in fact my itinerary is quite flexible.
I will be arriving in London on the 3 of July to begin my European trip. Accommodation for my first week in London is already booked but after that I have no bookings and no set plans so I’m open to suggestions.
Prior to arriving in London I will be visiting Bangkok/Phuket for one week, Egypt for 2 weeks (on a tour) and Turkey for 2. This means I’ll be leaving Sydney in less than a week but I will have email access following my departure in case people send me replies (I hope I get some replies ).
As far as traveling in Europe goes I’m happy to travel by eurail, bus or even campervan if people are feeling adventurous. With accommodation I’d prefer budget style due to the length of my trip.
I look forward to hearing from any takes out there, whether you’re interested in traveling together, meeting up or would like to offer some advice, please send me a message/email. Both gals and guys welcome, but of course gals get first preference
Thanks for taking the time to read my post,
Safe and happy traveling to all, and may your trip be the experience of a lifetime!
I am 27 years and from Malaysia.
First of all, I would like to thank you for posting your message in the travel forum. Because of this, I found out about this site and it helps me alot in my travel plan. I was going thru multiple travel sites, and coincidently, I was also looking for travel partner in July, I wasn't hoping for much luck, but then I read your msg from a travel page (can't remember how I get there though).
However, I am planning to travel in Thailand this July i.e. Bangkok and Chiang Mai for only about a week. If my budget allows me to travel far, I would go to Europe no doubt. Sorry I can't give you advice on your trip, but I would very much like to make friends esp those with common interest in travel (if you don't mind ).
By any chance you would want to know about my country, or Singapore, perhaps I can help.
I hope you have a great trip!
Hi John and Z-ster,
I'm a lil backpacker frm Malaysia too. Residing in the Federal Territory.
Fyi, I'm looking for backpack partners as well, for a 3 weeks in Europe somewhere beginning of March '05. Yeah I know it's still a long way to go. But homework is a must as well.
How I wish get to hang out there for months, but I bet in that case I've to quit my job then!
Well, I started planning now to schedule my time, and collecting more info especially the accomodation and transportation and hope to get another 2-backpack-partner and to hit as many places as possible. Will be planning to hit down to London 1st and head north to Midlands, and Liverpool--Edinburg--Ferry over to Amsterdam--Brussels--Paris and head back to London before leaving. Assuming each place with an average of 2 nights, it'll be a rough ride for 2 weeks over. And I'm planning most of the plc will be track down by train.
And to you John, not too sure whether you've been to Bangkok before or it is your first time there. I've been there back in March this year, indeed it's a really nice place. Known as the Land of Smile (LOS). Gone there with the help of
Air Asia , I bet you know how reasonable the fare is huh?
Assuming you're first time there, just relax and feel comfy, coz' most of the people there are very friendly yet easy to hang out with. You might have some problem in communicating, but out of 10-man you should able to get atleast 2 ppl that get to speak english. Hmm, travel around the town might get bored sometimes which is too crowded and hot weather. Hangout in the late evening or night will be totally different compare to day time, where the city will be much cooling with windy air. Nightlife here are expected and you can see the real "Amazing Thailand" then.
During day time, try hitting places like The Grand Palace (Don't miss it!) it's a must go place. Other frm that, there're lots more nice places like Floating River Market, Chao Praya River, and etc.
Afterall, just be yourself and feel comfy. Just smile and greet sa wa di karp (for gents) and sa wa di ka (ladies) on ppl you met. You'll feel like home
