Just had a horrible experience with Thai airways. During a discount fair, I bought premium economy tickets, because they said that economy tickets could not be upgraded. So when I finally try to get upgraded, they have the cheek to say that premium economy cannot be upgraded. Talk about double faced liars. Stick with other airlines...Thai may have cheaper fares but get ready to be screwed.

That doesn't make sense - you should send in a letter of complaint and demand to know why this happened. By the way, if neither Premium or Standard Economy can get an upgrade, who can?

I've never had a problem with Thai - always found them very good actually. It sounds like you just had a bit of bad luck.

Thai Airways fly me backwards and forwards to Europe on a regular basis and they look after me very well. You need to take your problem up with your travel agent or with Thai Airways direct, not here.

I HAVE TO AGREE 100%. THAI AIRWAYS IS ONE OF THE BEST AIRLINES ON THE PLANET. SOUNDS LIKE SOME KIND OF COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN THAT YOU NEED TO HANDLE WITH THEM INSTEAD OF GIVING THEM A BAD NAME HERE WHICH IS HARDLY FAIR TO THAI AIRWAYS (OR US). ZOOM

Bad name? Ha! Thai Airways is one of the worst, if not the worst, airlines of all time. I had a flight from Bangkok to Delhi that rerouted us in the middle of the night into Pakistan with a planeload of Indian Nationals. We landed in Lahore and were ORDERED off the plane by the military, there was no food or water or toilets and we stayed in a military compound with no heat for TWO DAYS. One woman died, many became sick, then we were rerouted back to Bangkok. When I wrote an extensive letter to customer service in both LA and Bangkok they responded with a glib one paragraph and DENIED it ever happened. They are adept at completely sweeping big problems under the rug. I have never flown Thai again in nine years of business travel, happily, and never will.

I agree, i've only ever had good experiences flying Thai Airways.
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but i'd give them another go. Send a letter of complaint.

Isn't it a funny coincidence, that the only two negative experiences ever come from first-time posters here on TP?

Ask system support to check the IP addresses - who knows, they may be same (shock horror)

Actually, no it's not as this type of posting does happen throughout the forums. Yes, the two first-timers may be the same person - then again, they may not. I think you would be surprised how often similar type posters have proven to be who they say they are and just found a place to voice their opinion - positive or negative. A quick search and you're here.
