Right then, totally clueless traveller here! I aim to fly into Bangkok mid to late Jan 07 and aim to stay in Asia around 6 weeks before heading to Perth i am travelling alone so a bit nervous to be honest. My naivity here could make a few of you laugh here so please help where possible.

I am a partygoer really and as i am alone would probably feel less alone in that sort of environment but at the same time would like to see some culture, i was thinking of bedding myself into travelling by staying in Bangkok for about 4 days before heading in the direction of Cambodia and Vietnam, now i dont know much about these countries and where to go, i know i would like to see the tunnels in thailand and killing fields in Cambodia but i was thinking of spending a week in each before heading back to Bangkok and then doing my Thailand travels.

Firstly which order should i visit Vietnam and Cambodia, do i need to fly to them and or internally to see places of interest? just any help really, sorry I am clueless!

Hello Parksy
Since u are self confessed clueless, i think the "South East Asia on a Shoestring" book will be exactly what u need. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the investment. Arond 26 euros. It will be sold in most book stores around the world.
It has the following information, which will be useful to u
Suggested routes
Accomodations lists
Safety issues
Train, plane and bus information for travelling around
Medical information
and more...

I will try to help you with your coming trip. Since some of the advice will be about women, I will send you a PM.
