hey there, first timer here!

final year of university (marine biology degree) is about to start, and at the end of it im off for a few months!!

Im planning 3-4 months in SE asia (thailand, laos, cambodia, vietnam, singapore etc)
1 month in oz, 1 month in nz, and then 2 weeks to a month in america (mostly just cali and ny)

im lookin at a budget of £5000 GBP(i already have my flight ticket sorted and paid for, so its purely accomm/party/sightseeing cash), is this enough given it will be hostels im staying in etc, but i do wanna see the cool stuff like angkor wat, some island party madness and some other things along the way.

also if anyone has any hidden, not well toured places anywhere i should see, or awesome friendly hostels; i'd love the tip!

also, wheres a good/cheap place to learn to dive?
whats the best way to travel in country?

cool, cheers for the help

Well, I am sure that 5000 GBP is more than enough for that trip, unless you want to stay in upgrade hotels and do a lot of expensive activities.
The best of travelling in SE Asia is just by public transport: bus, train and in Cambodja sometimes the boat.
In australia and new zealand best way to travel is by car, but of course that adds to the costs, maybe you can share costs by renting a car with people you meat. Or buy an old Ford Falcon and sell it for the same price!
Can't tell you about diving, not a diver myself.
