Hi Letioux and welcome to TP.

You'd be better posting your question in the Asia forum. Have a good trip.

Hi Letioux!

I have moved this thread from the General Talk Forum to Asia. You will definitely receive more answers in this one. ;)

When I was there I had a flight with Qatar Airways to Kathmandu via Doha. If you want a direct flight you might find one there, although it might be a bit pricey.
I haven't been to India, so I couldn't really comment on the train. But what you could do to save time is travel to Pokhara directly rather than going to Kathmandu first. It took us about 8 hours to go to Pokhara from Kathmandu and nearly broke my back.
Pokhara is a very nice lakeside town with some sights in the surroundings and you can easily get your trip set up there if you need a porter or a guide.
I haven't the Annapurna circuit but I was River rafting in the Annapurna Region and it's just stunning. I also did the first day of the Annapurna sanctuary trek that takes you inside the Annapurnas (they are shaped like a horse shoe) and up to Annapurna Base Camp. But I had to break it up because I was sick.
On the trek make sure you have a lot of small bills the people with the refreshment stalls usually can't change large bills.

I hope this helps. Any more questions just fire ahead, I am sure there are people out there who have done the Annapurna Circuit.

thanks Phil for your comments:)
what is the Annapurna sanctuary?

Annapurna sanctuary is a trek that goes inside the massive rather than around it. The Annapurna Massive is shaped like a horseshoe and if you go on the Circuit you'll be going around it. I think it takes about 3 weeks to complete. The Annapurna sanctuary takes about 1 week to get up and back again and it takes inside the horseshoe and up to Annapurna Base Camp. And there is also a Monastery close by the Base Camp. Unfortunately I couldn't make it up there when I was in Nepal because I was recovering from a stomach bug and went back after a day and decided to go to the lowlands instead.
