Hi Guys,
Need advice: Would I be better travelling through China by rail on my New Zealand or British passport? Also, if anyone has any advice on rail travel in China and Thailand, it would be very much appreciated :).
Thanks,

-Mike-

Hello Mike,

I'm a Chinese. I think either visa will be ok. Now in China, usually you may buy the ticket 4 days before the departure time at the railway station. Booking tickets through telephone or internet are both ok. But those may be difficlut for a foreigner who cannot understand Chinese. And you can buy the ticket of other cities 3-12 days in advance. For example, if you are in Beijing, you can buy the ticket from Shanghai to Kunming 12 days ahead. Different cities differ a little.
Is it clear enough? I know that may sound a little bit strange. If you have any question, please feel free to contact me.
Have fun!
