Hi all

I have an ordinary visa to germany valid for 3 months. However the visa states that it is valid oly in deutschland(not schengen states) . I wanted to go to neighbouring schengen countries. Can someone help me and tell if this visa is valid for schengen countries. If not how am I supposed to get a schengen visa? Please help

hi there,

visas to a schengen-zone-country are valid for crossing borders within the schengen zone as well. at least that's what it says on the official german government site.
the only restriction as i understand it is, that this is only applicable to visas that give you permanent residence or visas up to 3 months.
thus, if your visa does not DIRECTLY say that it's NOT valid for other schengen countries you can just go and have a lot of fun :)
