Bittersweet really - unfortunately lm back home and back to reality after a bit of a nightmare journey back - well took 48 hours to get from States to UK (not normal!!) BUT l had an amazing time in Chicago at the meet up and the fact 2 of my bestest friends joined me was even better, meeting up with Katherine at long last, and with Gretchen & Kris. THEN getting to spend time at the world famous Isa Manor, playing with the kids (l miss Cordelia especially - even though she insisted on sneezing on me all the time!!) getting the private tour of the brewery and then almost getting caught in a tornado (ok l didnt perhaps get the serverity of the situation but it was pretty cool seeing the sky go mental!) - i just had the bestest time ever and l dont want to be home l wants to be back in the middle of nowhere land!! Thanks G&K again for such a great time- and the cheese made it back this side of the pond - some is a tad mishapen mind you but it will taste fine l bet!!

To start off Congrats on the babies, engagements, all-clears, and recoveries!

Well, I haven't been on this thread much before so hear goes:

-meeting all the great TP folks (Kris, Gretchen, and Heather) as well as Iain and Janine
-catching up with friends
-that my parent's house is NOT under water
-the excessive use of emoticons in this thread
-that Heather got her cheese back to Ireland
-borrowing my sister's husband;)

The last three posts hae made me smile!!

Heather:

  • Sorry it took so long to get home but you can blame (Air) Canada and Friday the 13th!
  • Cordelia misses you too. (She can't help it that she has allergies.)
  • A really fast car will not win the race when pitted against a tornado and the basement is the safest place.
  • Just call it "free-form" cheese.
  • We miss you too! Come back to visit soon! ;)
  • Did homeland security leave a "Your luggage has been inspected." card in your suitcase?

Katherine:

  • It was wonderful meeting you too! When the waters recede, come for a visit!! ;)
  • You're defintely one of us now - the post cards have been sent.
  • Great news about the house!!!! Thought you'd be floating down the Mississippi towards New Orleans.
  • Side note - no rain in the forecast until this coming Saturday!!
  • I second Heather's question about your brother-in-law!!

Ive just handed in my letter of resignation - l have seen an organisational structure that has my name at the top of it in-charge of a team of 80 - and although lm smiling - lm also a tad nervous too - but the safe option isnt always the best one!!

Maybe Heather and Gretchen's question was meant rhetorically but I do think it begs the question back "Do your pillows talk to you?" I think I'm not that far gone yet! But if it did speak to me I'm sure it's "assistance" would be more helpful than others might be;)
