I went shopping and I can fit into a pair of size 14 skinny jeans from the "Hot Options" range. I was a size 22 (overeating) and now I feel really good.

that I have friends !!!
today was realy bad for me,found this morning one of my cats dead in the back yard and my little siames cat also dead on my porch, yesterday I had to call the vet to put down my flamingo because of his broken leg.

my friends came or called me,tried to cheer me up and then later tonight I could smile
even laugh and sing with them along.
It is wonderful to have some friends who care.

I've got a two parter from yesterday:

First, my friends and family planned a surprise shower and totally caught me off guard. I love surprises--but I always figure them out. This time I was getting annoyed as my sister dragged us to a martini place with my grandmother in tow. Had a fabulous time!!!! I second Marlis--having great friends is wonderful!

And second, we went afterwards to see Russel Brand at the Just for Laughs Fest--and somehow he got hold of my handbag, rifled through it on stage, danced around with my umbrella, opened up my wallet, and then took out my cell phone, flipped through the names, and CALLED MY MOTHER!!!!!! On stage!!!!!! And held the phone up to the microphone to catch her reaction as he claimed I'd come home a little pregnant!!!!!

I was slightly mortified last night but now it's kinda funny.

Awww, Marlis.......you have my sympathies. That's not a good way to start the day, especially with having to call the vetbut, you just have to think about all the good times, and let friends bring you cocktails and talk forever. A good cry helps too.

I got half the lawn mowed yesterday (before another cm of rain came down) and rescued 2, count 'em 2 little froggies from the tall grass (yes, the grass had been neglected for "a bit"). So I just kept humming "It Isn't Easy Being Green"......mind you, we still have 10 raccoons around if anyone wants to adopt.......

Watching the International Space Station zip across the sky last evening. The sun was setting, not a cloud around (thankfully) and "pop" there was was! Got to watch it for about 2-3 minutes before it disappeared behind the trees. It was exceptionally bright and easy to see. It was lovely!

Got my bedroom decorated and it looks great - just got to wait until Friday now and get new carpet fitted :-) - alright Harry the decorator subjected me to horrendous singing and Hugo Duncan on the radio but l cant have everything!! On the downside the bloody 1 year old vacum cleaner has decided not to work - morale - buy a cheap hoover - my cheap one lasted years - this expensive one 1 year - but JUST outside the guarentee period but of course!

This made me smile after the fact, though scared the hell out of me when it happened...
After hunting down the wily milk, eggs, butter and other grocery items at the store this morning, I headed home. One can only see the entrance of our driveway, due to an overly aggressive growing mulberry tree and wild grape vine combo, but not the rest of the drive. As I approached and began to make the turn, I was forced to halt suddenly to avoid a potentially ugly accident. At impressively high speed (and with excellent agility to boot), two large white-tailed deer males bolted from the mouth of the drive. One just missed running head-long into the Neon's grill - possibly through the windshield, considering his forward velocity. All I could do was turn my head, watch them run up the waterway across the road and disappear into the corn field. It also gave me time to collect my composure. They both have beautiful racks of antlers which are still covered in "velvet". They may actually by the reason our bird feeders are emptied nightly.

Nice, G! Love those what-doesn't-kill-you-makes-you-stronger moments.

I have one more official DB practice tonight before the big race this weekend. Two days and a chance at medals!

On the frown side:

  • Have to be up by 5 a.m. Saturday and probably Sunday
  • Will miss chat YET AGAIN! :(
  • The clouds are rolling in and we may be practicing in the rain
